Wellsians (?) love their swans. Under British Common Law (the same one that brought you my favorite SSA law--that you are deemed to attain your next age on the day preceding the anniversary date of your birthday), the monarch owns all wild swans living in open waters of the species "mute swans." That said, and it was a lot, it was no surprise to find that the Wellsians chose to honor their Queen's Diamond Jubilee (60 years on the throne) with 60 painted swans. The swans will be auctioned off to raise funds for local charities. So here are a few of the swans we saw.
