3 medievalists, 2 shutterbugs, a writer or two, a little girl, and a dog named Nancy

We met our host, his little dog, Nancy, and his friend, Rob, at a neighborhood pub before heading over to his home for dinner. Here are our host and hostess smiling for the camera.

Our host, along with Bill and Martha, below, is a medievalist.

As you can see, it was a spirited evening, in both senses of the word!

Here is my new little friend. She showed me her entire yard and we made a game of blowing twigs off the palm of my hand. She's wearing the new shirt given to her by Martha.

I had never before had a savory pie with a blackbird in it.

Martha and Rob.

Bill trying to find the "snap picture" button.

Here is Anna reading a Swedish story. Siri asked me to read another Swedish story at bedtime. I did so in my best Swedish accent, but Siri detected a fraud right away and wasted no time asking her mother to read it to her instead.

Another happy cuddle shot.

This is the best apple juice I've ever had.

Bill decided to show the group his finger/agility/mind-boggler games.

The finger/ear/nose/knee one gets 'em every time.

Then it came time for a discussion (again) of British flatware. Can you name the spoons below? From left to right: egg, teaspoon, dessert spoon, tablespoon (I think). In the States our teaspoons are larger and our tablespoons are smaller. The British tablespoon is equivalent to an American serving spoon, in case you're curious.

Rob was quite amused at this photo and decided to twit (is that the verb?) about it.

That's me in the twitter picture.

And that was our very fun night in London.
