Riomaggiore

Here we are arriving at Riomaggiore, the easternmost hamlet of Cinque Terre.
The waters off Riomaggiore belong to Zone A, the highest category of protection of the marine area.
The steep hillside allows for lots of sea views for the town's inhabitants.
Do you see a horizontal line carved into the side of the mountain below? That is the Via dell'Amore. By the way, I love the nearly vertical striations of the rocks in the foreground.

Speaking of the rocks in the foreground, do you see the person perched at the edge of the rock below.
He's setting up for a wedding shoot. Check out her shoes! Bill would, oh so, be a widower by now!
Yikes! She's standing unassisted!
Now notice the stairs that lead up to the level where they are standing. They were carved out of solid rock.

Bill's taking a picture of me, while I take a picture of him!
A little slice of sky.

Here is news of the horrible earthquake that struck while we were still in S. Margherita Ligure, an earthquake which Bill felt.
