Corniglia from the sea

The third town, Corniglia, is not accessible from the sea by tour boat. The reason for this is that it is situated 90 meters (295 feet) above sea level. (Incidentally, in finding this fact on my map, I also noticed that Monte di Soviore, not far from the start of our treacherous trek down the mountain in a preceding blog, is 470 meters, or 1542 feet, above sea level...whew!)

Travelling on towards Riomaggiore, the mudslides were very apparent.

Here is Bill, the birthday boy, poised to take some candid shots.

That little sailboat looked so lonesome.
