On hindsight, I can't believe we still had some walk left in us after going up, then down the mountain. Above is a picture as we emerged from one of the tunnels. Sunset was coming, but it arrives later in the places we've been staying in Europe either because we're closer to the next time zone or we're farther north.
The sole dinghy looked so lonely.
Along the lower part of the mountainside is a footpath that connects Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza. It was closed because of the mudslides.
The following morning we would catch this boat to tour the towns that make up Cinque Terre.
