These aren't the best pictures. This is the second oldest working clock in the world and was built about 1390.
See the little knights above the clock? Every 15 minutes they joust.
They're on two concentric, opposing courses.
At the end of their joust, one knight is always knocked back on his horse by the knight on the silver horse, below. This has been happening for 600+ years, and the little guy always manages to right himself in time for another bout, except when services are being conducted.
Off to the right, is this bell-ringer.
Finally, this is another view of the clock on the north transept.
There is nothing more I have to say about Wells Cathedral!
