Welcome to our itsy bitsy teeny weeny room at the Euston Square Hotel in London. This is the view of our room as you stand against the far wall in the hallway! I think you could easily fit three of these rooms into our last hotel room in Leeds!
And here is the view of our room standing against the back wall of the en suite bathroom!
Speaking of bathrooms, this is it...plus a shower! It is nicely appointed, but as you can see we're not leaving much of a carbon footprint, or any other kind of footprint, for that matter!
The breakfast room was directly above the Euston Square Underground station. This is what I saw as I ate my croissant, the roll with butter, a slice each of salami and ham, the slice of cheese, the bowl of Kellogg's "Luxury" muesli, and drank 2 or 3 cups of black coffee. I need to either start to do some serious hiking or avoid hotels with included breakfasts!
Finally, back to our room for one last look.
This is the only window in the room. It faced Euston Road, a main road, as in the street where King's Cross, St. Pancras and Euston stations are located. Between the double glazing of the outermost window were narrow Venetian blinds, but sadly the window was missing "the stringy things" (a quote from the man at the front desk) that would have enabled us to close the blinds. While the tree outside helped filter the light from the street lamp and obscure the view of us parading about the room that any passerby might have seen, Bill still had to resort to using an airline eye mask in order to sleep.
And now you know why this was a room with a view (to the inside)!
