Moving in

While some 23-year old women are moving on, our 23-year old daughter is moving in. Catherine Quinn, B.I.D. (Bachelor of Interior Design), is in the process of returning home after spending a year renting a duplex with two other girls. That she is looking forward to moving home again speaks volumes for the living conditions with the other girls, one in particular, who failed repeatedly to pick up droppings (for weeks at a time) and to clean up markings from her puppy, Bentley, a dog that was never house-broken.

I wish this could be a scratch-and-sniff blog entry. Catherine has been working part-time at Kirkland's Home for over a year. My allergy-sensitive head cannot remain in the store more than five minutes at a time because of their overuse of scented candles. Catherine herself loves scents. She must have at least a dozen fruity-floral sachets in her car. Now everyone knows that garages, in general, do not smell good. Her stuff is so infused with fragrance, however, that our garage actually smells very nice. I'm also amazed at the amount of stuff she has accumulated over the last year.

Anyway, we are very proud of Catherine who has completed her degree. To her credit and hard work, she did so while holding part-time jobs. She is a very industrious young lady.
